Why are we working in Maple Ridge?

In order to reach the world we must focus on strategic locations, especially large cities with world impact and find open doors to reach that city. Starting in the suburb of Maple Ridge, we hope to reach the rest of Vancouver by means of dynamic church planting and genuine service. Consider the following:

Maple Ridge:

• More open to relationships – and spiritual things – than in many other city in Greater Vancouver.
• Easy access to the rest of Greater Vancouver, as well as to rural areas.
• Unlimited room to grow.
• British Columbia’s leader in outdoor recreation – mountain climbing, sports, etc.
• Home to over 300 sports fields, the provinces largest park and more riding trails than anywhere else in B.C.
• Offers easy access to all types of incredible scenery.
• 2000% growth in film production in the last 2 years.
• 25% of all films shot in BC are shot in Maple Ridge (or should we say, “Holly-Ridge?”)
• Some real estate experts call it the city of the future.

Greater Vancouver:

• Comprised of 20 or so cities including Maple Ridge.
• Repeatedly voted one of world’s best cities in which to live, work, or hold sporting events.
• “Hollywood North”
• 160 languages spoken daily!
• More immigration than any other area in North America.
• The most postmodern city in the world.
• Less than 5% Christians.
• More Asians than anywhere in the world outside of China.
• More East Indians than anywhere outside of India.
• The Olympics in 2010!

• Has the world’s two most cosmopolitan cities
• Runs a fiscal surplus
• Is respected around the world as “neutral”
• The world’s richest uranium deposits & largest untapped oil reserves
