John and Tiffany Martens are NAMB-approved Mission Service Corps missionaries who moved to the Greater Vancouver area in 2003 to start The Connection.

John and Tiffany are originally from Manitoba, Canada. They moved to Texas, where their daughter Mikaela was born, to pastor a church and then to Indiana, where their son Adam was born, to pastor another church. While in Indiana, God called John and Tiffany to British Columbia to plant a new church.

John has his PhD in Physics.

Kyle Lawrence

Youth Minister

Kyle Lawrence moved to Maple Ridge in January of 2007 to serve with The Connection full-time as The Connection's Youth Minister, while also assisting Pastor John in various other outreach tasks.

Kyle grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where he produced a television series while still in high school. After producing 26 half-hour episodes, he sensed God was calling him to work alongside John and Tiffany at The Connection.

In 2009, Kyle had the opportunity to spend nine weeks back in the United States where he produced and directed the feature film Logan.
